Heres a quick tutorial on how to fix the common issues on filled in letters when you weld text in Cricut Design.

How to fill in letters on cricut design space. Check out the video above to see how I do this. The hello I used is an image but you could also type it in a font you like. Click the down arrow on your color tab and then click Pattern.

To get a filled in font you need to follow our Cricut hack. Available when the Cut Linetype is selected. Scroll through the patterns or use the Filter option at the bottom of the panel to narrow your search for the pattern fill you want.

Once you have the letter in place on the photo where you want it select both items and then Slice them. Choose a pattern from the list to fill your text. Its the first one that comes up and is blue.

This will slice out the shape of the letter from your photo. Select a Cricut pen type from the drop-down. The fix is quick and easy.

Using the offset tool to create a filled in font appearance Select your text and click Offset. You will also see other styles in the search that could work for this project. Heres an example of a design that does not require using the Slice tool.

Click on Images in Design Space and search for the word Cone. Remember to weld a script font Then select the circles and the word and click the flatten icon bottom right of the Design Space window. The list will change to show the colors available for that pen type.

Normally when you cut or draw letters you get the outline of the font with open space in the middle. You can click on the circled I in the bottom right corner to make sure its M46879. Normally we would choose Offset and then create a border around the word.

Place the letter on top of the photo and then move and resize the photo as needed to get the look you want. Many designs you may choose for Infusible Ink projects will require using the Slice tool in Design Space but others are ready to cut set and apply without slicing. Although there are three different layers in the design none of them overlap.

Fill Choose a color or pattern to fill your image layer for Print Then Cut. You would want one that is. Select the Fill swatch and choose Pattern from the Print type drop-down.

We can finally curve text within cricut design space. Cricut design space will only allow you to curve individual lines of text so if your design has multiple lines of text each one will need to be separated into its own text block. All the patterns you have uploaded will now appear.

This will open the Patterns view where all available patterns will be displayed including Cricut patterns and any patterns you have uploaded. The curve function in cricut software is pretty straight. Your pattern will automatically appear in the selected item.
